Mac and Jennifer Hartshorn met 25 years ago, working on set during a photoshoot for Cosmopolitan Magazine. After getting married, they left the hustle and bustle of Miami to balance work and family life in Hoboken. They soon found themselves at home with two children under the age of two, which only solidified them further. their love of capturing family moments.

We have created a beautiful, sun-drenched studio where fine art photography meets a family atmosphere, resulting in the most luxurious and indulgent photographic experience,” Jennifer said. “Life is busy, and we are filled and fueled by our gratitude for entrusting your family’s precious time and memories.”

The customer experience

From start to finish, the Hartshorn team takes care of every detail. From wardrobe options to framing choices for prints, the whole experience is one of attention and care. The studio offers a collection of beautiful custom dresses that will show off your growing belly and luxurious, textured blankets to swaddle your bundle of joy.

Prior to the shoot, Mac and Jennifer consult with each client regarding wardrobe choices and, if requested, hair and makeup recommendations. the full service experience start to finish also includes Jennifer’s interior design expertise to select what will work best in your home when it comes to custom framing.

When the day comes, the client receives the photographer’s full attention while having fun. Families immediately feel comfortable and natural as they laugh, smile and create memories that will soon be captured as masterpieces. This 45 minute portrait session costs $550.

After the shoot, Mac’s expertise and artistry really come into play as he curates a collection of the most powerful images that best capture the essence of the client’s family. Portrait of Hartshorn handles editing and printing in-house to ensure clients receive the highest quality photographic prints for each treasured portrait.

After the final selections are made, the client meets with Jennifer who creates a “date night” atmosphere in the Hoboken studio. As the wines and cheeses pass, clients view a slide show of images from their session and make the final selection.

Hartshorn Portraiture specializes in fine art such as canvas and watercolor giclées. Giclee printing is a process that uses fade-resistant archival inks to produce museum quality prints. These heirloom pieces are signed by the photographer and will be a beautiful reminder for as long as you keep them on your wall.

Health + Safety at the Studio

For the safety of families and staff, newborn sessions and maternity sessions remain in the studio while families with older children will have sessions on site. All shoots are mindful of social distancing and masks will be worn by vaccinated staff. Like always, customers are received by appointment only.

Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the studio and there is frequent disinfection of surfaces during and between each client session. If you or a member of your family are not feeling well, Portrait of Hartshorn will be happy to reschedule your appointment.
