The micro mini, the spearhead of Miu Miu’s dominant garment, isn’t the only skirt having a moment during the Spring/Summer 2022 season. The cargo skirt is also getting a lot of attention, with big thanks to Renell Medranoit is Ice Studios Mark.

Sure, plenty of brands tout a fair share of their own multi-pocket utility skirts, but no one is leading the cargo skirt craze quite like Ice Studios.

First introduced in 2021, the Medrano-led brand’s sporty miniskirt and cargo maxi skirt — ranging in price from $200 to $250 — have found their tribe among fashion’s cool girls. It even got endorsements (and several wears) from the likes of Bella Hadid, Justine Skye, and Paloma Elsesser.

So what is it about the Ice Studios skirt that has fashion girls swooning? Is it her athletic-chic character? The Y2K feels? The desire to support a talented creative like Medrano?

As the proud owner of the brand’s longline cargo, that’s all of the above for me.

Bringing back a classic from the late ’90s to early ’00s, the Ice Studios skirt strikes a healthy balance of sport and style, allowing for versatile attire from a rooftop brunch with the girls to a grocery run at the fashion.

Ice Studious’ long cargo skirt is also made of sturdy nylon, which makes the piece durable enough for those looking to keep it for the long haul. Meanwhile, an adjustable drawcord at the waist helps provide the perfect fit.

The same vibe follows the mini skirt, outfitted with water-repellent nylon, mesh short lining and flexible drawstrings.

Ice Studios entered the fashion brand chat in 2021, with Medrano at the helm.

Medrano is the photographer behind today’s most iconic moments like Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers album cover, November 2021 by Dennis Rodman QG feature film, and 2022 by Venus and Serena Williams Harper’s Bazaar cover, to name a few.

Not to mention, she’s also captured quite a few campaigns for Nike, Rihanna’s Fenty, and Calvin Klein.

Moving from behind the camera for a more hands-on approach to fashion, Medrano proves to be just as good with the design as he is with the camera.

With Medrano involved, celebrity endorsements and the brand developing cult status by the day, it’s no surprise Ice Studios’ cargo skirts can’t stay on the shelves.

Recent restocks of her mini and long cargo skirts have come and gone in the same breath. But don’t worry no more Ice Studios‘Skirts are on the way in more flavors and expanded sizes for fly dressers interested in living out their cargo skirt summer.
