As the fashion industry prepares for a new season start, it can be presented with two offers – one to renew the wardrobe and another on the raging trend. The next collaboration between Zara and Studio Nicholson aims to remove this crossroads with a collection that maximizes design and offers equal accessibility.
The collaborative collection between the British label and Inditex flagship has created 12 pieces that will solve the restriction between bets on a series of basic pieces, including the trendiest pieces of the season. In a press release, Studio Nicholson founder and creative director Nick Wakeman talks about his goals and mindset during the design process. She says:
“Since I started Studio Nicholson in 2010, my goal has been to create a flexible wardrobe that brings comfort, clarity and relevance to the daily decisions we make when we dress. Clothes are linked to our state of spirit, they move with us and my goal is that they don’t go out of style, they haven’t had the opportunity to discover the brand.”
She further adds:
“Clothing should lift our mood, move when we do, and never look out of date. Maintaining this philosophy over the past 12 years has given me insight into what works and what doesn’t. Functionality and fabric are crucial.”
The collection also offers clothing choices such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, work shirts, baggy jeans, and more. Plus, there are a few fall and winter deals to get you through the winter with styles like XXL trench coats, puffer jackets, and knit vests.
For Nick Wakeman, collaborating with a fast fashion giant like Zara is key to expanding its audience and consumer base beyond the tight-knit community it has already developed over the past 12 years. Speaking about the collaboration, she says:
“The collaboration with Zara means the modular wardrobe is exposed to an exciting new demographic of consumers; people who may not have (yet) had the chance to discover the brand. It gives us a channel to spread the aesthetic to regions and communities that may not have seen or heard of us before.”
Wakeman further comments on Zara’s home-style campaign, which is shot by photographer Craig McDean.
“Throughout their growth, Zara has maintained extremely high editorial values, making them the perfect partner for a Studio Nicholson collaboration.”
In addition to clothing, the collection includes small leather goods such as bags, wallets, sunglasses, and footwear such as leather boots and shoes.
The collection is set to hit stores and online on Zara’s official e-commerce website on September 12, 2022.
