Pierce County is closing its COVID-19 mass test site at the Washington State Fair until Tuesday, saying it is at full capacity.

Puyallup Police announced the closure on Monday, citing an overwhelming demand.

That same demand led the county to close a similar test site in Lakewood; officials said there were too many people and not enough space, causing massive backups of traffic spanning multiple blocks.

The State Fair test site will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Those wishing to be tested are requested to register online before arriving.

You can find more testing sites in the county on the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department website.
