For siblings Elaine Lim and Dan Yeo, founders of Studio White Room, photography has always been part of their family bonding time. Their mother loved taking pictures and often used her children as subjects. Today, the couple helps others create their own treasured moments at White Room Studio, which since 2009 has built a reputation for captivating portraits.
The photography studio has worked with over 10,000 clients – ranging from families and couples to newborns and businesses – to capture a wide range of occasions and accomplishments. It is backed by an award-winning team of accomplished and prolific photographers who capture images where everyone not only looks good, but also feels good.
This is especially crucial for family and business portraits which can also serve as meaningful heirlooms for generations to come. With this in mind, White Room Studio strives to make every photography experience enjoyable and comfortable.
It all starts with customer service, and the process has been carefully designed to make every trip stress-free, from creating a theme or mood for photos, to working out details such as outfits, hair and makeup, pets and even accessories. Beyond photographic expertise, the studio’s strength lies in its warmth and hospitality – anyone who stands in front of their camera always feels comfortable and confident.
Create perfect memories
During the shoot itself, clients bask in the limelight as a photographer guides them through expressions and poses. To ensure each session runs smoothly (or to deal with emergencies such as a creased linen shirt), a team of reliable studio assistants are in place. After the shoot, clients are invited to a review session to choose their favorite photographs.
What many guests love about White Room Studio – Google reviews often include ‘studio decor is beautiful’, ‘loved the vibe’ and ‘awesome space’ – is its location light in the Peranakan store. Indeed, the studio is meticulously and creatively constructed to elevate even the most intimate memories with an element of elegance or edgy cool.
A photo studio with multiple themes, from Peranakan to classic French
Spanning 2,400 square feet, with wooden flooring dating back to 1927 and flooded with natural light, this tastefully appointed space offers a myriad of concepts to suit different moods, looks and themes.
A Peranakan corner, inspired by traditional tiles, encapsulates the rich and colorful sensibility of the community. It also serves as a reminder of the boutique’s heritage, which Elaine Lim and Dan Yeo have restored to its rustic beauty. For classic French flair, clean white walls are adorned with intricate full-height paneling – finished with elegant vintage-style furniture covered in plush fabrics.
An iconic setting of the White Room Studio is its expansive balcony. Overlooking the majestic rain trees of Fort Canning Park, it provides a backdrop of lush greenery to give photos a natural and invigorating vibe.
That’s not all. White Room Studio has been ahead of customer expectations and needs with a host of dedicated facilities such as changing rooms and a make-up room. Expect chic amenities, too, including an Executive Lounge with pantry stocked with free coffee and tea. And there is also free Wi-Fi.
With its inimitable blend of imagination and ingenuity, White Room Studio has created a scene filled with memories that you and your loved ones will cherish for years to come. Go ahead, strike a pose and smile.
