A relative of Floyd Mayweather’s girlfriend allegedly committed suicide at the boxer’s condo in Las Vegas on August 22.

A friend discovered Jarrett Johnson, a relative of Mayweather’s girlfriend, Jamie Lynn, when they arrived at the condo on Aug. 22 around 4:30 p.m., according to TMZ. The young man had already died when the police arrived on the scene. Sources reported that Johnson died by hanging, according to TMZ.

Johnson and Mayweather had formed a seemingly close relationship. There are a number of photographs of the two of them sharing time together, and the two were known to travel across the country together. Sources close to the family reveal that Mayweather is devastated by the loss, according to TMZ.

Details surrounding Johnson’s suicide have not been made public. It is unclear if he resided in the condo where the alleged suicide took place, but it was reported that he had a number of residences in the Las Vegas area. Johnson was a talented athlete with a passion for football and he excelled in the sport. He was an all-conference quarterback in high school and had previously been named All-Around Southeast Missouri Athlete of the Year. He held several positions at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, and showed great promise for a career in sports, according to TMZ.

The Johnson family experienced tragedy in 2019 when their son Kevin was killed. This is the second child they have lost at a young age, according to TMZ.

Mayweather has yet to publicly comment on the tragedy.
