Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has signed a four-year contract extension with the franchise as he hopes to end his career in Hollywood.

Stafford and the Rams had been talking about expansion all offseason, and they finally got the numbers right. Los Angeles acquired the star quarterback from the Detroit Lions last offseason for a package that included two first-round picks.

In his first year as a Ram, he led Los Angeles to the Super Bowl behind a stellar playoff run. Now the Rams are hoping to step back with their long-term quarterback. Stafford becomes just the latest caller to win a ridiculous contract this offseason.

By ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Stafford has finalized a four-year, $160 million contract extension that will net him $135 million in guaranteed money. He hopes to end his career as Ram.

Via a press release, the Rams said signing Stafford for a contract extension was high on their list of priorities this offseason:

“Rams general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay during the week-long NFL Scouting Combine both said securing a new deal for Stafford was a high priority this offseason. Now they can cross it off their list.

Stafford has a net worth north of $80 million, although that number will surely change thanks to his new contract.

Matthew Stafford photographer

During the Rams’ Super Bowl parade, Stafford took heat for not helping a team photographer who fell from the stage, smashing her in the process.

“Long story short, we followed up with her. As we got in the car, Matthew looked at me and said, ‘Hey, do you want to contact the Rams, ask them how she’s doing?’ Did they say, ‘We think she’ll be fine.’ We sent her flowers. The next day we wake up, (she is) not well”, Kelly Stafford explained. “Matthew texted her himself.”

The Rams and Stafford have agreed to pay the photographer’s medical bills.
