Emily Vartanian-Tuttle is a Wilton resident, entrepreneur, publication designer, and photographer with a past experience supporting nonprofit organizations in the mental health sector. Her passions include normalizing self-care routines, especially for caregivers, and using her voice to bring communities together through the practice of mindfulness. Emily has an MBA and her businesses have been featured in Real Simple, Yahoo!, The Hour, Shape Magazine, and more. Now she’s the founder and owner of Pause + Purpose, a meditation studio in downtown Westport.

Pause + Purpose was born out of a need to seamlessly connect more people to high-quality mindfulness series to help them change their mindset, achieve their goals, and release all that doesn’t serve them. no, all with the help of friends.

Come in anytime during opening hours and meditate freely in the meditation loft with your favorite app or simply sit in silence surrounded by rustic woods, soothing music and river views.

Enjoy a complimentary tea bar with coffee and decaf options and read a book from the Mindfulness Library with curated works by its staff and instructors. On the ground floor, open informal activities take place throughout the day. Take advantage of the studio director’s optional log group (8h30-10h)when families are welcome for mindfulness activities (10am-11am)or an afternoon tea ritual (11am-1pm)free!

The Pause + Purpose subscription works much like a gym. For a monthly fee, you and your children can attend as many classes as you want during the calendar month. You also get special perks like 10% off our retreats and special events, plus free 20-minute guided experiences.

During the summer months, the focus at studio is to stay cool; easing intensity with relaxation, grounding our energy, staying hydrated, promoting stability, and balancing natural summer expansion and mobility with calm, restful activities. Gatherings are an introspective practice that nurtures and develops connections between body and mind, multiple facets of self, and community. We will explore embodiment by working with light movement, meditation and journaling in a gentle, mindful way and explore the process of listening mindfully to the needs of the body, in each specific moment.

The gatherings are for any meditator, beginner to advanced. Taught by expert instructors, each session is different and the instructors cover a range of mindfulness exercises.
The courses include:

  • Exploration of the breath
  • Light movement
  • Sound baths
  • Mindfulness techniques to calm anxiety
  • Logging
  • Optional sharing with the group
  • Group support
  • Lectures on specific mindfulness topics led by our instructors.
