FULTON – MISSION: midlife Wellness Studio is the recipient of a $ 4,000 Business Recovery and Revitalization Grant from the Town of Fulton and the Fulton Community Development Agency. Studio Owner / Trainer Beth Ann Dice is a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist. The studio, located in the historic Cortini building on Cayuga Street, offers programs to help mature and older women, especially those with chronic illnesses, lead healthier and more fulfilling lifestyles through with exercise, wise food choices, reduction of stress, improvement of sleep and state of mind. . The addition of an exercise program against cancer makes MISSION: midlife the only facility in the region to offer this service.
Dice, who is also a certified personal trainer, will use the funds to expand his cancer wellness program. “Wellness is not about perfection or unrealistic state,” Dice said in a recent interview, “It’s about getting you to where you are right now, even if you have cancer. or other health problems, and doing everything you can to be as healthy as possible.

Cancer Exercise Specialists® (CES) are qualified to assess, design and implement individual and group exercise programs for people with cancer and are qualified to assess health-related behaviors and factors of risk, perform comprehensive fitness assessments, write appropriate exercise recommendations, and motivate individuals. to modify negative health habits and maintain positive lifestyle behaviors for health promotion. Dice’s certification is issued by the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, considered the gold standard of oncology exercise education and has trained more people than any other organization in the world. Through CETI’s live advanced qualification workshops and home study, participants learn about 26 types of cancer and pediatrics, their surgeries, treatments, lymphedema identification, prevention and treatment, procedures for reconstruction, contraindications, side effects and much more. After a comprehensive exam, participants are awarded the advanced qualifications of Exercise Cancer Specialist® and / or Breast Cancer Recovery BOSU® Specialist ™.
